Revolving around the mad adventures of a naïve young woman after she decides to marry her wealthy boss, this classic film was nominated for seven Academy awards, winning one, for Best Original Score. Starring Julie Andrews, Carol Channing, Mary Tyler Moore, James Fox, John Gavin and Beatrice Lillie; the film was directed by George Roy Hill and was released on March 21, 1967. It even inspired a successful stage musical of the same name in 2000. A light-hearted film, this one probably doesn’t seem like the obvious choice for representing 1967, but over the years, it has cemented its position in history books and is firmly sitting there with pride and love.
