Geri Halliwell's Union Jack Dress - iconic dresses

The dress was worn by a member of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell during the 1997 BRIT Awards. As the name suggests, the dress had the Union Jack, i.e., the national flag of the United Kingdom on the front. The dress soon became synonymous with the ideas of Cool Britannia and Girl Power. Of course, at the time, the dress made it to the front of every newspaper and magazine. In 1998, the dress was auctioned off, and it made the Guinness World Record of being the “most expensive piece of pop star clothing dealt at auction.”
