Arsenal is playing it smart in the transfer market, adapting their strategy after Benjamin Sesko extended his stay at RB Leipzig, removing his £55.6 million release clause. While the Gunners initially prioritized a central midfielder, the latest developments have them recalibrating their targets.

Linked with several center-forwards, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, it seems a move for the Nigerian striker is not in the cards right now. Arsenal’s forward line needs bolstering, especially with the potential exits of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson. The market for strikers is tricky, so they might look to sign a versatile winger to give Bukayo Saka a break and add some rotation.

The main focus remains on strengthening the midfield. Last summer, they successfully landed Declan Rice with a big-money move, but such a hefty investment isn’t planned this year unless they can offload a significant number of players.

Arsenal is confident about enhancing their squad by the transfer window’s end, aiming to arm Mikel Arteta with the quality needed to challenge Manchester City. Early business is crucial as they face City just five games into the new season, making a fast and cohesive start essential.
